Sophisticated Master Bathroom
Designer Christopher Grubb remodeled a bathroom that blends modern design with natural elements and features a large walk-in shower, sunken tub and double vanity.
Before: Too Minimal
The bathroom had a minimalist, European look, which felt cold to the homeowners. Designer Christopher Grubb and Arch-Interiors Design Group needed to transform the space to make it feel more intimate.
After: Sophisticated Retreat
The contemporary bathroom has all the amenities of a luxurious spa. The tiled walk-in shower is enclosed with seamless glass walls and now features a beautiful built-in bench, while the sunken tub is surrounded by polished stones to bring in a touch of nature.
The large walk-in shower features floor-to-ceiling neutral square tiles and a pebble-like tiled floor. Niches inset into the shower wall provide storage, while a built-in bench looks like piece of furniture and gives the space a custom look.
Grubb draws attention to the wall behind the tub by covering it in rich, dark wood. The stunning focal point has various sized niches and shelves to display an eclectic mix of Asian accessories. Each niche is lit from above to highlight the decorative items.
Natural elements, like the dark wood focal wall and smooth stones surrounding the tub, create a serene organic atmosphere. A sleek, stainless steel faucet modernizes the tub area.
Before: Separate Vanities
Two separate vanities break the flow of the room and aren't functional. The homeowners needed more a practical statement piece.
The custom-designed double vanity is a streamlined, elegant piece in the bathroom. A canopy made from the same wood of the cabinetry brings the height of the room down, creating a more intimate environment.
Double vessel sinks are paired with sleek shelf-like faucets. The mirrors above reflect the glamorous sconces and visually enlarge the room.
Stainless steel sconces dripping with crystals add glamour to the contemporary bathroom.
