Separate Seating Areas

Claire Paquin's clients love to entertain and wanted to maximize seating in their Rye, NY home. By separating the room into two distinct seating groups, the space became much more functional for accommodating groups large and small.

Hideaway Ottomans

Extra seating is always at hand thanks to x-base ottomans stowed below the console table.

Statement Upholstery

To make a statement, designer Claire Paquin incorporated accent colors and patterns on the main pieces of furniture. The floral upholstery on the back of the tuxedo sofa is a gorgeous twist, adding feminine flair to its sleek silhouette.

Refined Color Palette

Tone-on-tone patterns are mixed for gentle contrast throughout the living room. Neutral walls and floor coverings keep the serene palette afloat with a sprinkling of periwinkle and cornflower blue.

The Power of Abstract

Artwork is just as much the focal point as the mix of furniture styles in this eclectic seating area. A quadrant of bright abstract art coordinates with the dove gray sofa and lavender occasional chair without being matchy-matchy. A scattering of details personalizes the space: a collection of favorite vinyl records and an acoustic guitar.
