Warm and Neutral Kitchen
Designer Denise Maksimowitz takes an outdated kitchen from awful to amazing with streamlined cabinetry, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
Before: Outdated Kitchen
The kitchen was completely nonfunctional and in desperate need of an update.
After: Streamlined and Modern
Sleek, contemporary cabinetry in a light wood is paired with dark countertops. Bright green tiles in two different sizes are used to create a stunning backsplash. Above the sink, designer Denise Maksimowitz adds shelves for wine storage.
Maksimowitz embraces the trapezoidal footprint of the kitchen with custom cabinetry that incorporates top-quality appliances. A modern glass range hood is a cool, contemporary addition to the space, while the granite backsplash below follows the same curve of the hood.
Shallow cabinets provide storage and extra counter space without taking up too much space in the oddly shaped kitchen. A low backsplash of small square tiles mimics the backsplash across the room.
In one of the angled walls, Maksimowitz installs a handy pantry. Simple vases in earth tones add a decorative touch to the space.
