For a fun take on the traditional family home, designers Jen and Jo layered this space with plenty of colors and patterns. The resulting design is both contemporary and comfortable, with gold accents throughout adding a touch of elegance.

Mudroom With Mixed Prints

By pairing bold patterns and prints, this mudroom makes for a grand entrance. At the same time, the gold-foil wallpaper works as an elegant, neutral backdrop for bright bags and accessories.

Contemporary Powder Room

Down the hall, a graphic blue and white print enlivens the powder room. When matched with a gold mirror and light fixture, the space feels keenly contemporary.

Coastal Kitchen With Gold Pendants

An all-white kitchen has a fresh, crisp feel. This one gets notes of elegance from golden accents like the pendant lights, while dark blue cushions add a subtle coastal touch.

Farmhouse Sink and Roses

A deep farmhouse sink is the perfect place to prep flower arrangements. Here, the brilliant orange petals provide a beautiful splash of color.

Pantry With Pineapple Wallpaper

Bright yellow pineapples become an unexpected, cheeky backdrop in the nearby pantry while also symbolizing hospitality. With wide countertops and a mini-fridge, the room makes entertaining easy.

Elegant, Neutral Dining Room

This pretty dining room uses colorful prints to give its neutral base a cheerful, summery feel. Wainscoting and a buffet allow the space to move in a more formal direction when needed.

Blue and White Bathroom

Turning off the dining room leads into this second bathroom, where blue and white wallpaper offers a bold splash of color and pattern. At the same time, a white floor and vanity keep the print from overwhelming the smaller space.

Library With Built-In Bookshelves

Blue and pink are a surprisingly grown-up combination in this handsome library, in part because of the room's sophisticated details: a plush Oriental rug, tailored armchairs, a delicate coffee table. Stripes on the curtains are a hint of a jaunty nautical touch.

Neutral Master Suite

Upstairs, the designers started with a neutral foundation of subtle wallpaper and an upholstered bed, then layered in colorful accents like the bright pillows and flower arrangements. The accents (and mood) of the master suite can be easily changed with different accessories.

Spa Bathroom With Blue Vanity

This beautiful spa-style bathroom combines interesting textural details like the paneled walls and glass-and-tile shower. Gold accents and hardware add a touch of glamour.

Brilliant Blue Girl's Room

Any girl who loves horses will be over the moon for this delightful bedroom, where horses gallop across the walls and a cheerful mix of pink, blue, green and yellow fill the space with personality.

Desk and Reading Corner

Opposite the bed, a white desk and twin bookshelves make a welcoming spot to do homework or other projects. A gauzy canopy hung from the ceiling turns a corner of the room into a cozy reading nook.

Kids' Bathroom With Dog Wallpaper

Who let the dogs out? Thank goodness, this adorable bathroom did with its blue-and-orange puppy dog-filled wallpaper. An orange-striped shower curtain adds a crisp, orderly element.

Cottage Entrance to Playroom

As pretty as a picture in a fairy tale, the entrance to this enchanted playroom is a gray shingled cottage complete with window boxes. Just past the door, a bright yellow slide beckons little visitors.

Fun, Multicolored Playroom

Kid art all over the walls, a loft and a slide (you bet!) fill this playroom with whimsical energy. The loft also maximizes use of the space as beneath it, there's enough room for a play kitchen and storage.

Basement-Turned-Family Space

To give subtle color to this neutral basement, the designers used blue in varying hues—from the palest sky shade to deep midnight. A wall of open shelving offers lots of display space, while cabinets on the lower half add handy hidden storage for the whole family.

Pool House With Indoor-Outdoor Access

Across from the home, a pool house waits at the ready for visitors. Here, sliding glass doors open to the backyard, while wicker armchairs and a sofa provide a comfortable spot for lounging.

Blue and Orange Bathroom

The wild patterns in this pool house bathroom shouldn't go together, but they do (brilliantly!) thanks to a similar color palette and the small-scale size of the sconce's stripes, dish towel's beading and the mosaic tile floor.
