Comfortable, Kid-Approved Living Room

With a warm leather sofa and two emerald green armchairs, this colorful living room boasts plenty of seating and style. A bright blue rug not only enlivens the floors, but also protects the wood from potential scratches and scuffs.

Drop Zone Tucked Into Stairs

To help the family of five stay organized, designer Lexi Westergard added a drop station to the base of the stairs with hooks and cubbies for shoes and jackets. The bench below works overtime, too, doubling as a comfy seat for afternoon reading.

Warm Pink & Blue Pillows

Peter Dunham pillows in pink and blue add a fun touch of color to the sofa. At the same time, a gold serving tray and ceramic accents balance the more casual pieces for a look that's warm but still sophisticated.

Trim for Character and Charm

To breathe a little life and charm back into this 1930s home, designer Lexi Westergard added trim around the fireplace and windows. Artwork and photographs framed in crisp black prints then personalize the space for its new residents.

Chic Black-and-White Fireplace

Rather than make the TV the focal point of the room, the design team used a matte black surround, large photographs and gold accents to keep all eyes on the fireplace. A gold tray and end table tie the design together.

Built-In Shelves Offer More Storage

On the other side of the room, built-in shelves turns the owners' favorite items into an eye-catching display. A large TV anchors the space, with cabinets underneath to keep family board games and DVDs in reach but neat.
