Streamlined Kitchen

Smoky hues offer a serene setting in the streamlined kitchen at the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase.

Neolith Porcelain Countertop

Neolith porcelain surfaces mimic the look and feel of marble on the kitchen island. The all-natural, innovative material is resistant to scratching, heat and cold and is easy to clean.

Resin Cabinetry

Resin cabinetry by Swiss Krono is cast to have the look and feel of real wood. The material is resistant to everyday wear and tear expected in a kitchen. Tinted mirrors located on either side of the far cabinet make the kitchen feel deeper.

Obscuring an Unwanted View

A glass panel tinted in a dark brown hue is hung in front of a window, obscuring a less-than-ideal view. Two squares were left without paint to allow the natural light into the kitchen. As day turns to the night, the squares come to match the painted parts of the glass.

Lighting Scheme

Natural light from the adjacent lounge area flows into the kitchen, giving it a soft glow. Task lighting is offered via recessed lights, pendant lights and the hood located over the island.

Surrounded by the San Francisco Bay

The lounge offers a comfortable place for guest to gather near the kitchen and enjoys sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, the Embarcadero, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Gathering Place

The dining room projects an easy, elegant comfort wrapped in luxury.

Have a Seat

A custom white oak table designed by Martin Kobus is surrounded by West Elm chairs upholstered in canvas sourced from Army tents.

Nylon Mesh Artwork

The floral artwork by Elitis is screen printed on nylon mesh, the same material used for fruit and vegetable bags.

Halo Pendant

The Halo Pendant chandeleir by John Liston crowns the dining room. The cast glass ring is lined with solid brass and lit with an LED strip.

Dinner and a View

Like the lounge, the dining room enjoys expansive views of some of San Francisco's most well-known sights.
