A fireplace in this transitional master bedroom warms the ivory walls on the cooler days while a large sliding glass door and clerestory windows allow for natural light and fresh air. Chic beams accentuate the bright and fresh palette that is used throughout the space while floral pillows and a black and white floral ottoman add subtle contrast. Mounting a television above the fireplace allows space for a small sitting area and keeps the aesthetic clean and organized.
The black and white tile backsplash in a traditional harlequin design provides an instant pop of contrast along one wall of this otherwise neutral kitchen for an eye-catching effect. By using these direct color opposites, the silver tones of the stainless appliances and brushed nickel cabinetry hardware blend with the rest of the kitchen, with the black tying in the color of the granite countertop.
