Rustic Modern Kitchen

Tyler added a bright paint stripe on the brick wall so that the exposed brick doesn't feel too overwhelming. The rustic mirror is from Portland Architectural Salvage, and Tyler chose a marble subway tile from Home Depot for the backsplash.

Salvaged Materials

Every part of the loft was used efficiently, even the exposed brick wall in the kitchen for storing pots and pans. The concrete countertop adds a modern edge to the breakfast bar.

Eclectic Dining Room Design

Tyler wanted a statement piece for the light fixture above the dining table. She chose this tall, vintage pendant because of its scale and slightly gothic style that works with the eclectic design of the loft.

One-of-a-Kind Office Space

To create this eclectic desk, Tyler sourced salvaged architectural corbels and chains from a local ferry and had the pine top custom-built. An antique ladder doubles as a bookcase and accents the vertical space of the loft.

Ladder Bookcase

Tyler found a bookcase ladder for the library area of the loft — it's a statement piece that makes an eye-catching storage solution for books.

An Open, Inviting Living Area

The stairs were remodeled using salvaged wood, and they lead up to the lofted library. The living space is open to the dining, kitchen and office areas, yet still feels separate and cozy.

Kitchen Gems

The vintage mirror and textural pendant lights balance the sleek concrete countertops and modern fixtures in the kitchen.

A Private Nook

Tyler designed a lofted library space with a sleep platform to add a private nook in the large, open loft.
