Navy Details

Tyler custom-ordered the ladder through the contractor, Frawley Construction, as a clever way to access the upper bunk. The wood and brass details of the ladder add to the classic aesthetic of the space. The door is painted in high-gloss Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, and it leads to a small storage area under the eaves.

Living Quarters

Slipcovers are a low-maintenance choice for this room that was designed with kids in mind. Nautical art and knot motifs are just a few details that tie into the coastal style of this home located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

A Seat With a View

This window seat is the perfect perch for ocean gazing. Tyler sourced brass lights salvaged from ships. The color palette of white, blues and reds ties in with the authentic nautical style of the room.

Double-Duty Furnishings

Tyler found a trunk to serve as a coffee table and double as storage for blankets and toys. The compass detail on the trunk adds to the coastal design.

The Upper Bunk

Tyler maximized space by lofting the sleeping quarters for the kids. Porthole mirrors are a fun and classic choice for a coastal-style space.
