As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, designer Jillian Harris added a breakfast nook off the kitchen and mudroom. This beach inspired space is located next to the window that overlooks the pool so that the kids can play while mom and dad look on from the comfort of the indoors.
The removal of the wall that separates the kitchen and the living room creates a more open space for dinners and entertaining. The new white kitchen has new non-slip tiles (for the aging dogs), new cabinets, appliances, and lighting, as well as in-floor heating (for the dogs). The kitchen is also surrounded by built in pocket dog doors which allows the homeowners to contain the dogs in a comfortable environment while they are away. As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, Jillian has pulled in some coastal inspiration for this couple's new living room. The color of the accent wall mirrors the natural tint of the sea, while anchors and rope and other nautical elements make their way into the design for a beach side feel.
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, Jillian Harris' overall design for Joyce and Steven was a mix of both their desires. Joyce wanted a timeless design that would stand the test of time and Steven wanted it to be contemporary. Here, the master bedroom, painted Porpoise color, with a Starburst mirror on the wall combines timeless class with a more contemporary piece of art. The headboard was made from an old door found in Joyce and Steven's garage.
This couple was eager to create a space that is great for entertaining, so Jillian designed this contemporary space for the couple. The huge windows behind the sofa allow natural light into the room, while the plush furniture and chairs provide plenty of seating. The shelves and many tables in the living room provide several places for guests to set dishes and beverages, making this space the ultimate place for entertaining.
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, designer Jillian Harris created a more open space by ripping out the wall that divided the kitchen and living space and putting in a large island with white quartz countertops and lots of new storage. The previous countertops were so outdated, their width did not accommodate a dishwasher. The hardware and lighting was replaced, Edison lights hang above the island, hardwood floors were put down.

The wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room was removed, The London Grey kitchen island was placed on wheels so that it could easily be moved if more space is needed, it also double as a portable bar-perfect for entertaining. The backsplash is Calcutta marble, which is considered timeless, but was made more contemporary by laying a herring bone design. The floor is Rosedale series, light grey. Walls were painted Silver Drop. Kitchen counter tops are Stone Grey. The small kitchen counter bench left of the stove doubles as a homework desk for Joyce's boys-a request she made so that they can be close while she cooks.
As seen on Love It Or List It, the floors throughout the main floor are now a beautiful 6.5" wide maple wood boards called 'Wave Rock.' Opening up this main floor was done by removing the wall that housed the fireplace. The wall that divided the dining room from the kitchen is now a big open peninsula for the family to gather around. The paint color in the dining and kitchen area is Behr 'Creme de la Creme.' The trim is painted 'Popped Corn.' The color in the living room and hall is 'Salt Glaze.' Jillian pulled her design together with the glass chandelier that helps to add a traditional touch to the space.
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, Jillian's design for this space includes a fresh, paisley print wallpaper, fresh flowers and vintage accessories to give the space a vintage feel to match this fifty year old home.
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, Jillian's beach inspired design continues into the bathroom. The flamingo wallpaper gives the space a vacation feel, while the white mirror and vanity and contemporary lighting gives the space the contemporary design of the rest of the house.
As seen on Love It Or List It, this powder room which was much too tiny to be usable before, but Jillian added space to make the room functional. She set the tone of the entire home with this wallpaper by Crown called Panache, which was the inspiration for elegance throughout the main floor. The lighting was chosen for its hand blown look, adding to the elegance of the space.
As seen it on Love It or List It, this beautiful rustic kitchen now has a functional appeal for the family. With plenty of natural light coming in fro the stairs and the windows in the back of the house, the space has a light feeling. The natural wood elements in this kitchen, such as the kitchen island, the exposed beams and the kitchen table, help to bring the rustic style to live, while the muted green kitchen cabinets adds much needed storage space.
Once Jillian removed the fireplace and wall separating the kitchen from the rest of the house, she added five feet to the kitchen. She then added tons of extra cabinet space for storage. The kitchen island and countertops give the family lots of prep space. The herringbone design on the backsplash of Calcutta marble makes the kitchen stand out.
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, the primary challenge for Kevin & Celine's family home was maintaining a balance between the heritage of the house and incorporating a modern design. Designer Jillian Harris bridged the border between modern and historical by choosing a modern version of tile for the backsplash. The originally planned grey slate tiles were set aside with the discovery of the original fir floor boards. A large peninsula created as a gathering place for the family. A deep pantry to the right of the fridge was designed by having to close off a small corridor that was no longer to code.
As seen on HGTV's hit show Love It or List It Too, the floors in this living room have been sanded and stained, and the fireplace has a new insert and ties. The shelving beside the fireplace is floating and the dog doors have been built into ledges that double as a location to place a beverage.

The wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room was removed. The previous walls were all Popcorn Walls, now refinished and painted Silver Drop dining and living room. The Oak hardwood floors throughout the main floor were refinished. There are new casings on all the windows throughout the main floor. Within the dining room are two built-in China Cabinets, white with glass doors that were rebuilt. The ceilings were just above the windows and the greatest design surprise for Jillian was being able to open the space up by vaulting the ceilings.
