Artistic Townhouse With Eclectic Decor

The owners of this restored Brooklyn townhouse wanted to bring it back to its roots. After refinishing the home to its original state, designer Chango & Co. used traditional furniture and bold artwork to bring it into the modern day.

Arched Doorway

This three-story Brooklyn brownstone, dating back to the 1890s, was entirely renovated to its original luster by Chango and Co.

Eclectic Foyer

Throughout the brownstone, Chango and Co. mixed classic furnishings with bold color and artwork to achieve a space that feels timeless yet up-to-date.

Corner Office

Even though it's tucked in the corner, the home office enjoys a great view. An orchid and eclectic artwork animate the small workspace.

Bookcase Wall

What was a blank wall now houses built-in bookshelves with integrated storage. Chango and Co. took advantage of the cabinet ledge to display sculptural keepsakes and art prints.

Black & White Stairs

This home was formerly a two-family dwelling and was converted to a single-family residence consisting of a kitchen and dining room on the first floor. The second floor hosts the foyer, formal living room and den, while the third floor contains three bedrooms and bathrooms for the family. Black and white staircases connect all three levels.

Charming Frames

A trio of black and white prints are a charming accent at the top of the stairs.

Stripes in the Dining Room

Decked with stripes, decorative art and informal furniture pieces, the dining room is a casual spot for entertaining.

Textured Tin Ceilings

During renovation, existing plaster moldings and tin ceilings were uncovered, stripped and refinished to their original state.

Artful Accent Wall

The accent wall hits the room with bold shape and color.

Butcher Block Kitchen Island

Used on one wall in the kitchen, dark floor-to-ceiling cabinetry balances out the open shelving on the opposite side. A large butcher block island anchors the space, complete with hideaway barstools.

Fully-Stocked Kitchen

Butcher block countertops and stainless steel appliances mean business in the remodeled kitchen. Open shelves and a magnetic knife strip keep essentials handy for when things heat up.

Eclectic Powder Room

Decked out with chalkboard paint and eclectic artwork, the powder room is unconventionally playful.

Repurposed Floating Shelves

Small crates were repurposed as floating shelves in the bathroom.

Cheeky Chalkboard Art

A friendly reminder is chalked on the bathroom wall.

Large-Scale Art

In this bedroom, a large-scale painting stands in for a traditional headboard. The room has a garden fresh feel thanks to crisp white linens, pale jade lamps and fresh-cut flowers.

Glowing Accents

A pretty blend of candles, fresh-cut flowers and silver serving pieces creates a warm vignette on the buffet.

Living Room Decor

A simple bouquet of tulips and a quirky table lamp add character to the living room.

Transitional Master Bathroom

The master bathroom branches out with two pedestal sinks in lieu of a bulky double vanity.

Subway Tile Shower

Chango and Co. removed years of wear and tear around the home by gutting the existing utilities. The blank canvas gave way to custom upgrades, like this gleaming walk-in shower.
